  • London DJ and fabric resident Craig Richards has chosen the name for a series of parties he's been presenting at his home club. "When I chose to reduce my appearances at fabric the idea was to create a monthly night where I invite the guests," Richard says. (He wrote about scaling back his gigs at the club in a March blog post.) "Collisions the concept is based around a sound clash. Collisions of sound. The aim being to cover as much musical ground as possible in a night." This name selection comes after Richards hosted three events earlier this year at fabric that each saw him teaming up with a friend for an all-night set in Room 1. Ricardo Villalobos, Margaret Dygas and Nicolas Lutz were his back-to-back partners on the decks at those past parties. The first proper Collisions night happens on Saturday, July 14th. Richards will once again DJ alongside Seth Troxler at that one, with Schatrax—the elusive UK underground favourite who rarely plays out—completing the Room 1 lineup. Joseph Capriati and Terry Francis make up the programme in Room 2. Meanwhile, Richards has curated two more recently announced events at Fondazione Prada in Milan, under the banner I Want To Like You But I Find It Difficult. He is also helping organise the second edition of his Houghton Festival, which takes place in Norfolk in August.
