  • A new Detroit Swindle album, High Life, is on the way. High Life, scheduled for release in late May, is the second full-length from the Amsterdam-based duo of Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets following 2014's Boxed Out. It features a handful of collaborators: Lorenz Rhode (the third member in the Detroit Swindle live trio), Seven Davis Jr and Tom Misch, along with the nine-piece brass band Jungle By Night. Dales and Smeets describe the album as "combining our love for house, ambient and jazzy harmonics," and after putting out their debut LP via Dirt Crew Recordings, they'll give it a home at their own label Heist Recordings. The release coincides with Heist's five-year anniversary. High Life will be preceded in April by the Flavourism single, combining the Seven Davis Jr. collaboration with two remixes from Pépé Bradock and another from US duo John Barera & Will Martin. Listen to "Flavourism."
