  • Shackleton's next release is a collaborative album with Anika titled Behind The Glass. An hour-long piece split into four parts, Behind The Glass sees Sam Shackleton teaming with Annika Henderson, a musician, singer, DJ and host on Berlin Community Radio. We're told she "narrates a tale of love, longing, fate and compulsion, which stretches out in the style of a surreal fable" while Shackleton conjures "something between devotional music and avant trance." The album will land in July on Shackleton's imprint Woe to the Septic Heart. It's the label's first release since 2015, and the artist's second full-length collaboration this year, after Honest Jon's put out his and Vengeance Tenfold's Sferic Ghost Transmits LP in January. Henderson has previously worked alongside Portishead member Geoff Barrow and his band Beak>—together they recorded the 2010 album Anika—and artists including Neu!'s Michael Rother, Jandek and T.Raumschmiere. She's also a member of the group Exploded View, who put out an album on Sacred Bones last year.
