  • LCD Soundsystem are about to digitally release two new songs, "Call The Police" and "American Dream." The songs come from the group's upcoming album, a record that's been in the works for a while—James Murphy and company first said it was on the way in early 2016, when they announced plans to get back together less than five years after calling it quits. Last month, fans in New York got a first taste of new material at LCD Soundsystem's five-night residency at Brooklyn Steel, and today Murphy took to Facebook to reveal that "Call The Police" and "American Dream" will be released around the world at midnight tonight, local time. They'll show up on vinyl as part of the LP, which Murphy says is "seriously almost done" and needs "one more vocal and two more mixes" before it's sent for mastering. For now, though, "Call The Police" and "American Dream" will only be available digitally. "These are just two songs that we wanted to get out to the lovely and patient (and some less patient, but one assumes equally lovely) people who want new music," Murphy writes, adding that the album has been "one of the most enjoyable records to make in my life, if not the most fun ever." Listen to "Call The Police" here.
