  • Secret Garden Party is coming to an end after this year's edition. The festival, which takes place in countryside near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, announced the news via its website today. Founder Freddie Fellowes wrote that "much has changed" since the first Secret Garden Party 15 years ago. "There was nothing else like it in the UK," he says. "Facebook, YouTube and Twitter had yet to be invented and no one knew what a boutique festival was, let alone Glamping. Since then, The Garden Party has defined and redefined outdoor events in the UK. We have all done this together as a collective of truly independent outsiders." The final edition, whose theme is "the biggest VIP LOL-off you've ever seen," will run from July 20th through 23rd. Confirmed acts include Metronomy, Crystal Fighters and Peaches. Fellowes also promised a new event would "rise from the ashes" of Secret Garden Party.
