  • Sonic Groove will release a new Fixmer/McCarthy EP next month called Chemicals. French producer Terence Fixmer and Nitzer Ebb frontman Douglas McCarthy's longtime EBM and techno collaboration has yielded two albums and a handful of EPs and singles, most of which came out from 2003 to 2008. After years of quiet on the release front, the duo returned last spring with So Many Lies, a single for Fixmer's Planete Rouge Records. (That label also issued a digital retrospective of their work later on in 2016.) Next up is Chemicals, a three-track EP that Sonic Groove boss Adam X, who's followed Fixmer/McCarthy since the two began putting out records together, considers "one of the biggest releases for my label to date." McCarthy designed the artwork himself, drawing inspiration from a logo used for industrial and EBM parties in Spain in the early '80s. Listen to samples.
