  • Amsterdam night mayor Mirik Milan has revealed plans for Nacht voor de Nacht, a new annual event highlighting the diversity of Amsterdam's club scene. Held on Saturday, February 25th, Nacht voor de Nacht gives anyone in Amsterdam a chance to visit 20 clubs for the price of one. A ticket, which costs €15, grants access to key house and techno venues such as De School, Shelter, Melkweg, Claire and RADION, along with Jimmy Woo and Disco Dolly. Shifted, Tama Sumo and Lil Louis are among the DJs playing in Amsterdam that night. Nacht voor de Nacht also aims to foster communication between clubs, residents, businesses and the municipality. A debate on diversity is planned for earlier in the night, featuring council members and club representatives. There's also a dinner at the Rijksmuseum's RIJKS restaurant by Michelin star chef Joris Bijdendijk, an advocate of the nighttime food industry. "You can check the entire width of the Amsterdam nightlife out in one night," says Milan. "We have a hardstyle party in the Westerunie to techno in 24-hour clubs like De School and Shelter. There's hip-hop in the Jimmy Woo and Disco Dolly while different types of house are blasting in the large halls of the Marktkantine and Elementstraat, and eclectic nights are going on in pop temples like Melkweg and Paradiso."
