  • Dark Entries is reissuing hard-to-find records from Italian darkwave outfits East Wall and Kirlian Camera in January. Josh Cheon's San Francisco-based label will give East Wall's 1985 single Eyes Of Glass and their 1991 debut album Silence, as well as Kirlian Camera's 1987 two-tracker Helden Platz, its usual reissue treatment. Each release has been remastered and put in its original jacket with an insert featuring lyrics and band photos. Silence, which was first put on a single slab of wax, is now being expanded onto double vinyl with an unreleased extended version of "Ice Of Fire" and a bonus "Intro," while both 7-inch and 12-inch versions of Helden Platz's title track appear on that reissue. There's some shared history between founders of the two groups, which might explain Dark Entries' move to revisit these records together. East Wall's Fabrizio Chiari is a former member of Kirlian Camera, which was founded by Angelo Bergamini, who had also been part of East Wall. (Kirlian Camera is still active today.) Dark Entries, which nabbed the number-four spot on RA's top labels of 2016 poll, is also supporting victims of the recent Ghost Ship fire in Oakland by selling one-of-a-kind test pressings, with 100% of proceeds going to an immediate relief fund.
