  • Joakim will release his first EP on Life And Death next month. As the founder of the Tigersushi label, Joakim Bouaziz's music has usualy come via that imprint or Versatile, but now he's moving over to DJ Tennis' Life And Death—also home to Mind Against and Tale Of Us—with Daemon, a two-track 12-inch. It's only the label's second EP of 2016 following DJ Tennis' Divisions / Chirality back in April. "About six months ago we were eating Korean fried chicken and Manfredi [DJ Tennis] asked me if I'd like to do something for his label Life And Death," Bouaziz says. "At the time I had a bunch of club tunes I started working on... so I played those and Manfredi very quickly picked one, 'Daemon.'" The label says that "Daemon" is an identifiably Life And Death-style track, "full of modular synth tweaking and a nod to... '90s Detroit techno epic/melancholic vibes," while the B-side is "R&B meets techno" inspired by Micronauts. Listen to "Daemon."
