  • The mayor of London has urged the Metropolitan police and Islington council to preserve the future of fabric. Sadiq Khan urged the parties involved to figure out a solution that would "protect clubbers' safety" as well as "the future of the club." The London nightclub shut its doors last weekend to help with investigations after two 18-year-old clubbers died from drug overdoses. After the weekend fabric announced the club was to remain closed as Islington council reviews its license. Khan was elected the new mayor of London this past May, running on a platform that included preserving the city's "iconic club scene".
