Bloomberg claims that SoundCloud is looking to sell for $1 billion.
Citing "people familiar with the matter," the business publication stated that SoundCloud's investors and founders are exploring ways to manufacture a sale. Other sources claimed that SoundCloud has had difficultly finding a buyer willing to pay $1 billion for the business and, although nothing has been finalised, talk of a sale has been in the works for some time. The declarations come in the wake of SoundCloud selling equity to major labels, introducing a paid, ad-free service to monetise its user base and a recent $70 million investment from Twitter.
A SoundCloud representative declined to comment.
