  • The rise in the level of Seine has forced the temporary shutdown of several clubs in Paris. The Seine burst its banks on May 31st after heavy rains hit northern France, flooding the river's tributaries. Clubs located on the riverbank, including Batofar (pictured right), Nuba and Petit Bain, will stay closed until further notice. The river is unlikely to return to its normal level before the weekend, with "water levels continuing to rise and more rain expected [over the coming days]," flood expert Emma Haziza told Le Monde. Other riverside venues like Showcase and Faust, which have no events planned tonight (June 1st), might be forced to cancel upcoming events—though no official statement has been released yet. Concrete, which is located at Port De La Rapée and is closed all weekend due to Weather Festival, reports "no damages so far on the boat."
