Time Warp Argentina officials arrested following drug deaths

- 30 people have been cited following the April incidents, which resulted in a temporary ban on dance music festivals in Buenos Aires.
- Earlier this week two organizers of Time Warp Argentina were taken into custody, with one turning himself into police, following charges related to six deaths occurring at the techno festival on April 15th. The allegations focus on Dell Producciones, the promotion company behind the Argentinian edition of Time Warp. As Mixmag reports, authorities have cited 30 people in relation to the six fatalities for alleged crimes including "facilitating a place to purchase controlled substances and negligence." Dell Producciones' attorney, Maximiliano Avila, was taken into custody earlier this week as was Carlos Maria Garat, the employee responsible for the festival's evacuation plan. The president of Dell Producciones, Adrian Conci, turned himself in voluntarily. On news of the casualties, the second night of Time Warp was cancelled immediately, with the Mayor of Buenos Aires going on to issue an order halting permits for big electronic music festivals until new laws are put in place. The German based Time Warp issued a statement on the tragedy: "We are dismayed and deeply saddened by the death of five young people at Time Warp Buenos Aires. Our thoughts are with the relatives of the deceased and the five visitors who are still under medical treatment. We pray for their quick recovery." The parent company also denied any responsibility for the local organization and planning of Time Warp Argentina. Time Warp was founded in 1994 and now encompasses events in the Netherlands and New York, in addition to the Argentinian edition, which was in its third year.
