  • Web radio station Dublab will host the third edition of its Sleepless series on Friday, February 4th at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The event series explores the intersection of ambient and leftfield dance music. It quickly gained a following due to notable ambient bookings like William Basinski and Daniel Lanois, and because of its elegant venue in downtown LA. For tomorrow's event, Dublab teamed up with well-established local labels ESP Institute and Matthewdavid's Leaving Records. For the ESP stage, label boss Lovefingers has brought in Mule Musiq's Kuniyuki as well as Amsterdam record digger Tako. They'll join Secret Circuit and Cooper Saver, among others. M. Geddes Gengras, Ahnnu and Diva are among the Leaving affiliates scheduled to play. Elsewhere on the premises, SFV Acid will perform and a piece by the UK sound artist Philip Jeck will get an airing.. This past summer, RA's Aaron Coultate spoke with Tako as part of our Playing Favorites feature. Check out Tako's picks here. The full lineup is in the event listing below. Sleepless is free but RSVP is required.
