  • Robert Hood has announced a new project called Paradygm Shift, with three EPs and an album on the way via Dekmantel. The project sees Hood moving away from his work as Floorplan and Monobox and back towards the minimal sound for which he's best known. The first release, a two-track EP titled Paradygm Shift Volume 1, drops on February 22nd, with two more EPs and an LP following later down the line. "I felt it necessary to reiterate Robert Hood as an electronic music artist who is bringing minimalism back in the forefront, and not to get lost in the melody," says Hood. "I want to get back to the simple repetitive programming that I'm known for, and to me it was returning to that, but shifting the listeners' focus and not staying on this plane like we are used to." Though this isn't the first time the M-Plant boss has worked with Dekmantel—in 2010 he submitted two remixes of Juju & Jordash's "Deep Blue Meanies"—it is his first original material on the Amsterdam label.
