Dekmantel announces Selectors festival and compilation series

- Dekmantel has outlined details of a new festival and compilation series called Selectors. The Dutch crew say the project is geared towards "celebrating the extraordinary DJs that turned collecting and playing music into an artform." The first Selectors festival will run from September 1st through 5th 2016 at The Garden Tisno in Croatia. With a capacity of 1500, Dekmantel say they're aiming to create an intimate vibe at the event, with a lineup that features the likes of Joy Orbison, Hunee, Daniele Baldelli, Helena Hauff, Sassy J, The Black Madonna, Intergalactic Gary, I-F, Young Marco, Beppe Loda and Motor City Drum Ensemble. "You can expect long sets from some of our favourite DJs combined with the usual Dekmantel touch on sound, production and atmosphere," says Dekmantel's Thomas Martojo. The first Selectors compilation comes from Motor City Drum Ensemble. (His instalment will be followed by efforts from Young Marco and Joy Orbison.) Each compilation comprises a selection of unmixed tracks hand-picked by an artist. Speaking about his selection, MCDE says: "I wanted to get some of the stuff that is really, really hard to get, and make it available for younger people." Selectors 001 is due for release on double-vinyl and CD formats in March 2016.
