- Radion, Cruquiusgilde and a new venue linked to Trouw are on the verge of getting around-the-clock licences.
Amsterdam mayor Eberhard van der Laan has approved 24-hour permits for Radion, Cruquiusgilde and a new venue with links to recently-closed nightclub Trouw.
Van der Laan's decision will likely bring the number of venues in Amsterdam with 24-hour permits to five. (The other two are Tolhuistuin and Tower Overhoeks North.) Though the permits are yet to be officially granted, they're expected to be approved by the city council. Two of the clubs to be granted permits—Radion (pictured right) and Cruquiusgilde—are relatively new additions to the city's club circuit, having opened in 2014 and 2013 respectively. The third is a new, unopened location at a former school on Doctor Jan van Breemenstraat in Amsterdam's west. Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool reports that this club is being set up by some of the people behind Trouw, the much-loved nightspot that closed its doors in January 2015.
