  • London Bridge venue Crucifix Lane will close after the Easter weekend. In a situation with parallels to the closure of Cable in 2013, the long-running venue is being shut down by Network Rail as part of the expansion of London Bridge Station. "All good things come to an end," says the club's general manager, Alex Brooks. "It's time for us to leave the area as the new wave of residential and businesses arrives. The venue was here long before either of those arrived, when London Bridge was a desolate, industrial-only area. Until recently we've been able to co-exist, though with the major works above us on the railway, we're the next arches needed back." The club will sign off with two farewell parties this weekend. First, on Thursday, April 2nd, Cartuli's Day will host Obsolete Music Technology, AKA Steven Tang, before Solo Danza take over on April 4th with the likes of Margaret Dygas and Tobi Neumann set to spin. Tickets are available on RA. The venue was previously known as Happy Jacks and then Jacks. It hosted Chemical Brothers' first London show in 1994. In more recent times it's hosted parties with Night Slugs, Bugged Out! and Lo*Kee.
