  • Pacific Rhythm will open a brick-and-mortar location in Vancouver on February 8th. The seller was originally established as an online store in 2013 as a way for North American collectors to buy records without dealing with exorbitant European shipping rates. Pacific Rhythm has since developed an identity of its own, hosting parties around Vancouver and launching a label. (Lnrdcroy's "Sunrise Market (Extended Mix)," from Rhythms Of The Pacific Vol. 1, landed at number 39 in our top tracks of 2014.) The store will be located in Chinatown at 441 Gore Avenue, between East Hastings and East Cordova streets. Founder Derek Duncan, AKA DJ D.Dee, claims they'll be "Vancouver's premiere source for DJ records," focusing on boutique labels with a particular emphasis on exclusive in-store records. Pacific Rhythm will celebrate their opening on February 8th with a party that will run from 2 through 8 PM and feature sets from Jack J and Liam Butler (the Pender Street Steppers), Hashman Deejay and Neo Image. Looking ahead, the crew will also host their next Pacific Rhythm Session on February 21st, which will go down at the Fox Cabaret with Terekke.
