  • The Martinez Brothers have started their own record label, Cuttin' Headz. Chris and Steve Martinez will launch the imprint with their own three-track EP called Tree Town. Though they started a vinyl-only label with Seth Troxler earlier this year, Cuttin' Headz is the first outlet over which they have full control. It will focus on releasing music from the duo's hometown, New York City, with a musical focus that spans various shades of techno, house and hip-hop. Tree Town will arrive on digital and vinyl formats. The vinyl version comes with a screen-printed cover featuring artwork designed by Chris and Steve. That EP will be followed by the debut record from Destination Void, AKA the trio of DJ Spider, Brendon Moeller and Phil Moffa. Their Between Worlds EP apparently comprises "15 minutes plus of acidic, squelchy techno" and comes backed by a remix from The Martinez Brothers. Records from Jesse Calosso and Filsonik are also in the pipeline. Watch RA's Between The Beats film with The Martinez Brothers below. You can also stream snippets of Tree Town's lead single, "Tree Town."
