  • Antoine Rouge will inaugurate the new label from Crimes Of The Future on October 7th. The brainchild of Timothy J Fairplay and Scott Fraser, Crimes Of The Future was started last year at Glasgow's Berkeley Suite as a home for "leftfield house & techno" as well as other outré sounds inspired by krautrock and dub. Their operation has since made a leap over to London's Plastic People, and now takes place in both venues. The first release comes from low-key producer (not to mention "cult leader and spiritualist") Antoine Rouge, and while we're not sure exactly who he is, the label claims he was given some time in Fairplay's studio before breaking equipment, turning abusive and running away to Sierra Leone. Whether or not you believe the fanciful story, the Spook Juke EP is said to combine vintage European synth music with '80s Chicago sounds. The second one will come from a more familiar name: Detroit's Elizabeth Merrick-Jefferson. You may know from her debut on Argot earlier this year. Her EP will hit about a month after, on November 4th.
