  • The next edition of RA Horizons series will take place in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday March 9th. For the event we're teaming up with local collective Late Night Social Club (LNSC), which began putting on parties across the city in 2009. Since then they've brought a wealth of international talent—including Ewan Pearson, Jacques Green and Matthew Dear—to this city by the Mexican border. The party will be headlined by Optimo, the duo of Keith McIvor and Jonnie Wilkes whose long-running residency at Glasgow's Sub Club earned them a cult reputation. They're known for a consistently adventurous DJing style that mixes up everything from classic techno and house to rock and post-punk (they were also the subject of a recent RA Exchange). Support on the night will come from the LNSC DJs and DJ Joe N. We're keeping the exact location of the event under wraps for now. It will be the second US installment in the Horizons series, following last year's party in Portland with Martyn and Max Cooper. Previous Horizons events have taken place in Shanghai, Beijing, Nagoya, Vancouver, Aberdeen, Oslo, Johannesburg and Cape Town. The premise of the Horizons parties is simple: to shine light on small but dedicated scenes, and the promoters and artists that make those happen, operating outside established electronic music hotspots. Tickets for the event are available here on RA.
