Mike Huckaby plays (and educates) Barcelona

- The Monkey Bar has booked Mike Huckaby for two appearances in Barcelona early next month. While DJing and production is what the Detroit veteran is most famous for, he's also an educator. As seen in RA's Real Scenes: Detroit documentary, Huckaby teaches electronic music at YouthVille, a "youth development center" that offers kids a positive environment for learning new skills. (Kyle Hall is one of his YouthVille protégés.) He's also done a number of workshops for New York production school Dubspot, which posted videos of his tutorials on their website. The Monkey Bar has smartly tapped Huckaby to bring the best of both worlds to Barcelona on December 5th. During the day, he'll be giving a masterclass at the Barcelona branch of the SAE Institute entitled "Ableton Live Workshop with 3rd Party Plugins (Reaktor)." Though free, the promoters caution the capacity is very limited and ask that attendees RSVP by email. That night, Huckaby will play a party at Señor Lobo with local jock Dario Damerini.
