  • Colin de la Plante, better known as The Mole, will launch a new label this September called Maybe Tomorrow. The Mole has appeared on some very respectable labels in his day, not least those run by fellow Berlin-based Canadians (Wagon Repair, New Kanada). "So why am I starting a label?" he asks himself in the label's press release. "I guess I'm trying to centralize my output. Give it all some kind of unity. My friend Jon Berry (who works at Kompakt and is running the label with me) has been bugging me for ages to do it and now seems the time." Maybe Tomorrow takes its name from the intro theme to The Littlest Hobo, a Canadian TV series from the '60s and '70s about a stray dog who spends his time "saving lives, bring[ing] families back together, and teaching blind kids to ride horses" (to quote one YouTube commenter). de la Plante says he doesn't have any "grand plans or a release schedule worked out"—at this point the plan is simply "to make records and release a whole bunch of music that wants to come out." The label kicks off with If I Had a Nickel, a six-track EP that's equal parts club material and spacey ambient sketches. You can hear the title track right here. Tracklist 01. Stupid Famous 02. If I Had a Nickel 03. Waxman and the Sunchild 04. Spaceballhaus 1 05. I Twist You Turn 06. Shifter Maybe Tomorrow will release If I Had a Nickel on September 3rd, 2012.
