- Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have a new LP in the works for Cocoon.
Extrawelt will release their next album, In Aufruhr, this November on Cocoon Recordings.
A duo since the early '00s, Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have gone through a lot of changes over the years. They started out making trance and progressive-flavored sounds as Spirallianz, and then as Midi Miliz. As Extrawelt they adopted a darker, more stripped down sound, but never lost their soft spot for emotional melodies and cinematic atmospheres. In Aufruhr, which translates to "in turmoil," shows them continuing to develop their minimalist but accessible style of tech house, occasionally toying with broken beat and dubstep rhythms, as they did on their 2009 single Deine Beine. It will be their second full-length after 2008's Schöne Neue Extrawelt.
