About

  • The story so far… What started out as jamming sessions between fellow DJ’s / producers Rob Pearson & Kirsten Sees @ Online Studios, Croydon (www.onlinestudios.co.uk), quickly transformed into what is now known worldwide as Area38. In early 2007, Area38’s fortnightly internet radio show was launched on Myhouse Yourhouse (www.yourhousemyhouse.net), and is still broadcast on alternate Tuesday nights 9pm -12 midnight. The first and foremost ethos of Area38 was, and still is, to showcase the very best Tech / Deep / Electronic House music, whether it be their own, that of established or up-and-coming artists. All that matters to Area38 is the quality of the music, not the quality of the name. Guests on the show have included Colin Dale, Nathan Coles, Harold Heath, Alex Arnout, Phil Weeks, Gavin Boyce, Tempo o’ Neil, Bob de Rosa, Alex Artette (Etoka), Living City, Natalie C, Mark Gwinnett, Mike Healey, Deanoloco, Richie Littler, Adam Ryan, James Soulsby, Gabor, Laurence Reed, AJ (UDS). Before long, this self-styled promotion vehicle quickly turned into a quickly recognisable brand of underground House music. Wanting to expand on Area38’s original ethos, Kirsten launched Area38 Recordings in March 2010. For Ms Sees launching the label was a natural progression to expand and underpin both the original promotional platform concept behind Area38, and also the distinct brand of Underground House music that has become the hallmark of Area38. Off to an encouraging start, Area38’s first release from a budding new artist called Techorse received early support from top jocks such as Nathan Coles, Denis A, Raymundo Rodriguez, Tom Baker, Atnarko, Tyler Stadius, Chloe Harris, Nils Hess, Anthony Pappa, Robert Owens, Sarah Main, DJ Linus and Gee Moore to name but a few. And if that wasn’t enough praise for a brand new label, Area38 also earned a spot in iDJ magazine’s ‘Start Your Own Label’ article, and was tipped as the most promising new House label for 2010.
