About

  • The followup from React Records, Resists takes over form where it left of hosting an array of different artists. It has already featured music from producers as diverse as Ed Rush and Optical to Infected Mushroom, Norman Jay, Fabio and Grooverider, and hardcore players like Hixxy and Scott Brown. React Music - one of the most successful and internationally revered independent record labels - is no more. In its place, a new company, Resist Music, has been set up by React’s James Horrocks and Melissa Kemp and has since acquired the staff, rights and catalogue of React and is now officially open for business. Although React was enjoying its best period of turnover and profit for 5 years, the label was owed in excess of £1,000,000 in distributed income from 4am/Flute, part of the Beechwood Music group of companies that went into voluntary administration in June. Following Beechwood’s closure, React was unable to extract any monies due or trade out of such debts and as a result the label was forced into voluntary administration on 16th June 2004. Resist is home to Industry Recordings, Bonkers, Reactivate, Drum & Bass Arena, Hardcore Til I Die, Good Times, Bugged Out, React Music and more...
