We are Paper Recordings, the seminal British dance label that released exactly 100 vinyl singles and over 25 artist albums and complilations from artists like Crazy Penis, Salt City Orchestra, Reset and Rune Lindbaek.
Paper spawned a sister label, Repap, for all sorts of leftfield tweakery from the likes of 0898 Dave, Matthew Herbert and Twisted Nerve's Andy Votel. We also launched the infamous Robodisco club night that had pretty much every world class DJ from Lil Louis to Romanthony to Tom Middleton spinning to packed crowds month in month out. Famed as much for it's distinctive design and collectable record sleeve artwork as it is for it's music, Paper was forward-thinking and ground-breaking.
In 2009 Paper entered the digital realm with the labels back catalogue becoming available as naughts and ones for the very first time. Eraly releases and projects included "A Nice Hot Edit With..." - The classic Crazy Penis album, re-interpreted by some of our favourite artists and DJs including Greg Wilson, Faze Action, and Crazy P themselves. Proviant Audio - An 18 year old production/sampling/performing genius who's album Real Love Tastes Like This! busted the Norwegian charts with it's blend of the best of 70's disco, soul, and electronica.
There is a new stable of artists including Flash Atkins, Ralph Myerz, 2 Billion Beats, Jamie L, Hvana Candy, Daco, Neil Diablo, Sleazy McQueen, Leca and Kahuun assuring that Paper's future legacy is safe.
