September last year saw Louis Osbourne launch his record label – Mija Recordings. A project he has been deeply engrossed in since the start of 2009. But the hard work is paying off with the label gaining strong support from the worlds underground music elite.
After 17 years of DJing, Louis’ passion for cutting edge house and techno remains as strong as the time he attended his first clubs back in 1991. Mija Recordings is a project that enables Louis to share his love of electronic music with the world, and to create a product that he can develop around his own musical experience.
“The labels policy is simple…. If I’d play it I’ll sign it. The label is about pushing my message via electronic music. I don’t want it to be avant garde or off the wall. I’m a DJ at heart, and my sole intention is to move a dancefloor. Therefore the trax I sign to the label are aimed at the dancefloor. I am a protagonist of tech-house, techno and deep house, so the label is aimed at the underground heads out there.”
So far the label has seen releases and remixes from Android Cartel, Jet Project, Alan Fitzpatrick, Celtec Twinz, Jamie Anderson, Psycatron, Miniminds, M.in, Daniele Papini, Mr. K-Alexi, UES, Jon Gurd, Osbourne & Anderson (Louis Osbourne & Jamie Anderson), Carlo, Mihai Popoviciu & Elef. June 2010 sees Mija release the remixes of Jamie Anderson ft. Mr. K-Alexi - Cyclone featuring remixes Stacey Pullen, Coyu & Fish Go Deep. Mija has more releases ready to go from Per Hammar, Hypertic & Thor, while Louis is preparing his debut release on the label and a 1 Year label compilation as well. Swift work for a label that is only on its 9th release!
With the label remit to sign trax that move the dancefloor, & with a man at it’s helm that knows how to do just that, you should keep your eyes and ears peeled for the upcoming releases on Mija Recordings in 2010.
