The German term fach has plenty of meanings. On the one hand it means a division, a case or a pigeonhole and on the other hand it describes a skilled person or a specialist.
When fach was founded, the purpose was, first of all, to have a name for an upcoming event - "Why don't we establish a net-label and call the event "label-opening party?" That's what happened. Two months later, the label, which was at this time still called "fach-records", started officially with its first release "Bjoern Spielmann ? Dry & Wet EP". Another three months later, the name of the label changed into fach-label.net, as it is still today.
Fach is releasing electronic music in mp3 format under creative commons license. It was founded by Thomas Dahms and is today operated by Thomas Dahms and Bjoern Spielmann, who are supported by a team of webdesigners, photographers and artists. The headquarter is based in Berlin, Germany.
