Civil Disobedience Records is an independent London based techno label founded by Annabel & Nicola of Violent Blondes, releasing music of a socially and politically charged nature. The label’s core mission is to promote more women in the music industry alongside the male artists who support equality in music and embody the label’s ethos.
Civil Disobedience demands creative freedom and expression, and absolute equality amongst artists, this is why artists choose to work with the label. Another requirement is that the music tells a powerful story, preferably personal stories of meaning to the artists as there is nothing more affecting than that of a true story.
