In a world where a new label sees the light of day every week it's hard to claim you ever do anything new or revolutionizing. Instead we are insisting on releasing good quality dance music and do it well. That is the essence of Smeur. With the three founders firmly placed in the midst of the Copenhagen house scene for years, this is also the outlook for the label. But no genre is a given; the music just has to be damn good!
Smeur Records is at heart a vinyl label and and will exclusively be so in the first 6 months of it's existence. Later on back catalogue might find its way to the digital stores. Each release contains two tracks only identified by the track name, no artists mentioned. Each release is distinguished only by the catalogue number. The release is accompanied by a note from the creator published on our website. It details the process behind each production, liberating the music from its artists.
The exterior and feel of the releases are simple, cover in recycled cardboard and the center label disclosing a new detail of the Smeur logo each time.
