  • As the host of BBC Radio 1Xtra's Rap Show, Tiffany Calver is a leading voice in the UK rap scene. Since becoming the first woman to host the coveted Saturday night slot, Calver has built connections to the US rap world, working to develop the mutual respect and influence shaping the sound on both sides of the Atlantic. She can be credited with getting Headie One and Drake together for "Only You Fresstyle" and helped line up appearances from British talents like J Hus, Digdat and Unknown T on Drake's last European tour. She's become a go-to DJ for these high profile contexts, playing at London's Olympic Stadium for Jay-Z and Beyoncé and opening for Fredo. Calver's rise has taken just a few years, moving from blogger to PR intern to NTS and KISS FM host by her mid-20s. For this edition of RA's ongoing collaboration with Black Minds Matter, Calver reflects on her journey thus far with Vanessa Maria, dealing with maintaining balance between public and private lives, the benefits of therapy and the launch of her No Requests imprint.
