- The Fractal Fantasy cofounder talks Virtua, CGI and Ten Billion Angels.
- As cofounder of audio-visual production unit Fractal Fantasy, Zora Jones is a key practitioner synthesising club music with virtual worlds. Originally launched as a series of videos, the platform has since spiralled into an important record label in its own right, with Jones releasing kinetic, ultra-modern productions alongside cofounder Sinjin Hawke and Martyn Bootyspoon. On the visual front, last year saw the launch of Virtua, a 360° virtual environment that the group also intend to realise in reality, comprising a studio environment, performance space and spatial audio.
Last September Jones released her debut album, Ten Billion Angels, an audio exploration of human emotion and CGI tentacle erotica. In conversation with Martha, we hear of the processes behind the new record—including getting comfortable using her own voice—as well as her conception of virtual worlds and plans for Virtua.
