- One of Germany's top DJ exports gives her deepest interview to date.
- Although tINI initially had no plans of becoming a DJ, her innate talent has consistently pulled her ever deeper into dance music. Over the past decade, the Munich native has struck the rare balance of being at home both in underground haunts like Berlin's Club der Visionäre as well as the big rooms of Ibiza, all the while playing wriggling strains of house and techno that tick boxes with heads and festival crowds alike.
She made her debut on the White Isle around 2007 and launched her own tINI And The Gang residency in 2010. What started as a free beach party—an increasingly rare occurrence on the ever-commercialising island—was ultimately shut down by local authorities. But despite the setback, tINI And The Gang has grown into an in-demand event series that follows its namesake across the globe.
In conversation with RA staff writer Elissa Stolman, tINI reflects on her charmed ascension as a DJ and producer, the recent birth of her own record label and the effects of corporate "pinkwashing" of LGBTQ+ culture in the dance music industry.
The RA Exchange is also available on Spotify.
