  • The RA Exchange thrives on good stories, and when Ryan Keeling sat down with the veteran UK DJ Eddie Richards recently he had plenty of them. He detailed his residency at Camden Palace in London during the mid-'80s, a club that was known as one of the best of its era. He told of being one of UK's earliest adopters of house music, and how he had a large hand in introducing the emergent sound to London audiences. Then there was the one about him founding the world's first DJ agency—in the early '90s he setup dy-na-mix to take care of bookings for people like Jeff Mills, Todd Terry and Richie Hawtin, DJs he'd got to know as one of London's most respected selectors. He discussed his gigs as a key DJ on the rave scene, playing legendary events like Sunrise, Energy and Helter Skelter. He also spoke of Wiggle, a party that he became involved with alongside Nathan Coles and Terry Francis that helped establish the sound of tech house back in the mid-'90s. Wiggle is presently celebrating its 20th birthday, so we thought now was a great time to have Richards stop by to share some of his many tales. Photo credit: Peter Ashworth
