Jaxson Payne [dtub- Custom MIDI-Drum Project]
Jaxson uses an electronic drum kit to trigger samples from a custom library of thousands of sounds to create live techno performances. Each piece is played in real-time entirely on the drum pads in one take with no backing tracks, loops or overdubs.
Graham Dunning: Mechanical Techno
Dunning's live work explores sound as texture, timbre and something tactile, drawing on bedroom production, tinkering and recycling found objects. The Mechanical Techno project uses looping records, locked grooves, audio triggers to analogue synths, mechanically played percussion and mechanically triggered drum-machines, with live mixed AV.
Bass frequencies, live audio feeds and found sounds are recurring themes within Shelley Parker’s performance, installation and music production. Her distinctive style, encompassing elements of old school hardcore, noise, techno and electro has led to DJ sets in venues as diverse as Fabric and Tate Britain.
Morten Norbye Halvorsen
Morten Norbye Halvorsen is an artist and composer whose work incorporates sculpture, film, sound works and concert appearances in an ongoing exploration of collaboration, music and performance. Morten is a Frequent collaborator with artist Jessica Warboys, member of the band Concert and central to the Cornish Koept and Open Source Sound collective with releases as the MNH.
As a vocalist/producer Steph Horak experiments with different systems for voice and composition, whether through the use of self-programmed systems, or combinations of hardware and electronic instruments built by friends. Stylistically they edge somewhere between experimental electronica, traditional songwriting, and conceptual pieces.
