Having just recovered from the antics offered up by J Tijn & Manse for our Launch Party, we return to the Wick with some of the most coveted DJs on the circuit. Coming down will be the mercurial Struction for his London debut, alongside DJ, producer & artist, Gaunt for some added firepower.
- Struction [Ilian Tape]
The ever-mysterious Struction makes his London debut with us at the Wick.
Snapped up by Munich’s Zenker Brothers, Struction's debut EP alongside Djrum for Ilian Tape offers forward-thinking, genre-bending techno with audible nods to British rave heritage. Another release on Ghent’s seminal R&S Records, “Gefüge” sees ambient serenity collide headfirst with gritty breaks, harking back to a time when “Techno” wasn’t so easily defined.
Struction’s latest release as part of the “A Decade Ilian Tape” compilation (alongside the likes of Skee Mask, Shed, Andrea and STENNY) establishes him as one of *the* producers of the moment.
Alias or not, we are extremely excited to have one of our favourites making his London debut behind the decks with us.
The Cambridge-born, Brixton-based producer's debut EP on Beneath’s ‘Mistry' imprint saw him blasted from obscurity with a force rarely seen from a newcomer to the burgeoning UK Techno scene.
The juddering hats, eerie pads and deep, distorted kicks on “Crowd Noise" can show even the most stubborn of techno purists that there is life beyond 4/4.
With well-earned support from UK stalwarts Hessle Audio, Perc, Timedance and SWAMP81 to name just a few, Gaunt’s stripped-back, system-killing Techno has deservedly landed him place on the shelves at Berlin’s Hard Wax and given him regular slots on Radar Radio, NTS Radio, and Leeds-based KMAH Radio. We can’t wait to have this guy at the controls - TIP!
