Amila (Altered Soul Experiment) Sounds Familiar announces a very special night at Prince Charles A cultural nod rather than just a booking agency, Sounds Familiar has attracted during the past few years a group of incredible artists around a simple and inspiring vision: create, spin and spread good music across the globe whilst building a family of artists, promoters and like-minded people. Headed by Dego and The 2000black Family, who will perform their new live show for the first time in Berlin, the line-up will offer a mouth-watering musical experience featuring some of the artists that made Sounds Familiar a true global music love affair. One of London’s most revered music visionaries, Dego will join forces with the masterful music producer, skilled DJ, and equally gifted visual artist Ge-ology who has produced songs for a list of notable recording artists including Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, De La Soul, Yukimi Nagano and Vinia Mojica and Jem. Italian underground mastermind Volcov will bring his unrivalled selection - the worldwide respected collector and DJ has just finished to select songs for his latest compilation for BBE Records and has been very active on his own imprint Neroli lately, releasing an incredible new 12” by Lars Bartkuhn. Furthermore, Lee Collins is joining as well – he developed a progressive funky soul sound that he is well known for today providing it to Chicago-music lovers and partygoers for over 20 years now. The cast is completed by Patrick Gibin aka twICE. Among his recent projects: an explosive collaboration with Kaidi Tatham, released on Patrick’s own label Blend It! and a mixtape for the highly sought-after mixtape series Altered Soul Experiment. Speaking of which, as ASE has hosted and collaborated with many Sounds Familiar artist, it felt natural to invite Altered Soul Experiment’s founder and local hero Amila to join us for this special night. Warming up the concert is Yuko Asanuma from Berlin Community Radio. Support by hhv Records & XJAZZ
