Following the news this week that Fabric in London has been given the go-ahead to re-open, the ‘Berlin loves fabric’ party takes on a whole new meaning! The party will be a celebration of fabric in Berlin and all funds raised will now be given two organisations in Berlin working with young people and the NTIA #savenightlife campaign.
Klik Berlin is a contact place for teenagers and young people living on the streets. Their projects uniquely support these vulnerable young people with health care, food, advice, mental health support, basic needs, creative skills and vocational training.
Give Something Back To Berlin is a network that makes social engagement and neighbourhood work accessible to the large migrant population of Berlin. Migrants, refugees and Berliners come together over a huge variety of projects aimed at fostering community, exchanging skills, integrating and different cultures. Their work extends from free language classes and community meet-ups, teaching music to cookery evenings and soup kitchens.
The ‘Berlin loves fabric’ party is also being generously supported by the Berlin Club Commission whose conference on the challenges and future of the nighttime industry ‘Stadt Nach Acht’ runs from this Thursday to Saturday in Berlin. The UK’s Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) will be speaking at the conference on the 25th November, as they continue to push for vital changes to UK licensing laws to prevent the difficulties fabric has faced happening to more UK venues.
Reflecting the level of talent that has been showcased every weekend over the club's 17-year history, the programming draws inspiration from fabric's line-ups to ensure the soul of the club runs through the Berlin party. ‘Berlin loves fabric’ draws together old friends of the club to play at the recently opened venue The Off in Friedrichshain.
Fabric Records & Houndstooth recently released the epic 111 track compilation #savefabric and have announced an 11 disc box set physical release available as pre-order until Friday.
Tickets for the event are on sale via RA, with all profits going to #savenightlife, Klik Berlin and Givesomethingbacktoberlin.
