THE TROJANS, fronted by Gaz Mayall, specialise in ska and reggae with a dash of soul, funk, R&B and world roots. Formed in late 1986 The Trojans sprung from the ashes of Mayall's first band, Gaz's Rebel Blues Rockers. The band have toured Europe and have played shows spanning large festivals to intimate clubs, bars and private parties. With a plethora of record releases (launched through Gaz's Rockin' Records) and shows under their belt The Trojans hit the CLF Art Cafe, Block A, Bussey Building this December presenting to you their own take of 'Afro-Celtic' fusion, a hallmark of their sound.
TED @ THE CONTROLS bought his decks (secondhand with his own money) at the age of 11 and started playing his dad's vinyl gravitating towards all things Jamaican! His first 'public' performance was at his dad's 50th which was followed by an invitation to perform at the Endorsit In Dorset Festival where at the age of 12 he had a packed tent skanking away until 2 in the morning! True story.
Things picked up quickly for Ted who was soon given the call to play The Isle Of Wight Festival where he's been a regular ever since. In the same year he DJ'ed Lily Allen's wedding, Notting Hill Carnival (with Gaz Myall) and has now marked his place as a resident DJ on the street of W11.
