Commodo is one of an increasingly rare few who make waves through the strength of their music alone. Having released his debut album "How, What Time?" on Black Acre in this year with features from the likes of Rocks Foe and Trim, as well as having previously worked with JME, he builds bass-focussed beats with soul and substance that never adhere to a formula.
Commodo distances himself from contemporaries with ingenious sampling and sound design influenced by his long-time affinity with the vibrancy of hip hop.
His scrupulous studio techniques are evident across his all his productions which hold a rare freshness, whether in the dread-pressurised bassweight of his dancefloor leaning work or the tonally rich and immersive qualities of his more cerebral creations.
