Many of you partied with us on New Year's Day with Dixon, DJ Koze and Daphni, and many of you took the time to get in touch to tell us how much you loved the venue, the Bankside Vaults. One, perhaps still inebriated, party-goer described it as 'the Berghain of London', and although we're flattered by the comparison, we definitely agree that the venue's plethora of dark and interesting spaces, quality sound and central location make it wonderful in it's own right.
And so returning we are, on the Bank Holiday Sunday in August, and we're bringing some of our biggest inspirations with us. JOHN TALABOT is someone we've followed and loved for many years, and the Hivern Discs boss shows no signs of ever slowing down with a hectic festival schedule, the launch of a Hivern Discs sub-label, collaborations such as 'Talaboman' with Axel Boman, and still producing track after track of incredible music....who can forget the magic track of last summer, John's vinyl-only edit of Machine?
After a sublime showing at Field Day, we're delighted to announce that John will be joined by the one and only ROMAN FLUGEL, who since the early 1990s has proven himself as one of Germany's greatest electronic musicians. The Dial and Cocoon maestro is renowned for eclectic sets and impeccable track selection; Roman is another artist we've been trying to pin down for some time and is definitely one not to be missed!
For this event it was decided that some Norwegian 'space-disco' swag was in order, and thus PRINS THOMAS brings his deep, deep record box to Bankside Vaults, completing a true triumvirate of genre-spanning talent. FORT ROMEAU have been making waves with releases on Ghostly and Live At Robert Johnson, plus are a firm favourite of our residents, and are joined by fellow Hivern artists CLEVELAND, playing live, and SAU POLER.
Our trio of residents, RABOTA, TROUBADOUR and NICO, will be bringing the signature Avant Garde sound, plus we'll be brining a whole host of friends and up-and-coming talent to join us in the cavernous Bankside Vaults. Rumours of a secret hard techno darkroom abound; you'll have to explore the venue yourself to find it...!
