---SATURDAY 4TH JUNE 2016---
We’re bloody thrilled to be reassembling a legendary – and downright salacious ‘n’ debaucherous – night that ran riot in Brixton. It was called Throb.
Throb was born at Garlands in Liverpool in 1994, but came of age in Brixton, running at The Telegraph and Jamm from 1999 to 2007. The Throb crew were on a mission to throw 'parties not club nights', bringing a friendly, up-for-it vibe. No headlining DJs, no VIPs, no guestlist but YES to fancy dress themes. Throb was a sexy, sweaty party with plenty of regular Throbbing members who created the unrivalled atmosphere. Highlights over the years included floats at Notting Hill Carnival, the legendary (and very saucy) Love Boat Parties, regular strip poker in the front room (calm yourselves!), the Throb Dalek and the NYE midnight bootleg moments.
We’re delighted to confirm that most of the original spinners will be returning for this pretty monumental reunion. For us at The Dance Assembly, this is the perfect match. It’s a no-brainer. We’re both naughty, we both love a fucking good stomp, we’re a sociable bunch and we ABSOLUTELY know our music. This really could be a match made in heaven, y’know......
We’re going to honour the Throb tradition and instill a theme for this Dance Assembly.
And the theme is......
Bring one, buy one, borrow one – just wear one. Cheap? Expensive? Elaborate? Tacky? You decide.
Ourselves and Throb are completely behind this, so if you DO turn up without one; you’ll be in the minority. (Fear not, we’ll have a few spares kicking around, if you’re particularly rubbish).
