After a great NYE party on Wednesday night, Def-Tek returns to Think Tank for its first gig of 2009

Two of Dublins leading DJs, Paul Dolan and Dave Connell, hooked up over 3yrs ago to produce the progressive/tech house sound of Phuture Phunk!
After a listening to a set by the legendary DJ Alf in Shaft, one night back in the early 90’s, DJ Paul Dolan was hooked! Alf offered him his first residency there … and he’s never looked back since! He’s held residency in many Dublin club, and ran his own radio show on Kiss FM. Through this, the infamous Trade of Turnmills of London, snatched him up by offering him a permanent residency, which lead him to DJ in clubs world-wide, from London to Ibiza and onto L.A. So far, his glittering career has had him supporting some of the worlds finest! From Junior Vasquez, Tom Stephan, and Malcolm Duffy to name but a few. Playing some of the finest clubs in the world Turnmills[london], Ministry Of Sound[london], Privilege[Ibiza], Palace[hollywood], Key club[hollywood] and Redbox[dublin].
This experience really enhanced Paul’s music style and on returning from London several yrs later he hooked up on Nova, a dance radio station with Dave Connell this was the beginning of Phuture Phunk.....
With over a year to go to his Leaving Certificate, Dave Connell started dj'n at the tender age of 15!! Holding down a residency at Pacha [Temple Theatre], where he supported UK Dance DJ Tall Paul. He was also responsible for hosting his own radio show on Dublin's Kiss fm. Not long into his residency Dave was a frequent guest @ Space(temple theatre). Over the following years Dave continued dj'ing around Dublin playing at most of the city's biggest club night's Mono,Redbox,Kitchen supporting various DJ’s like Tom Cole. He has also played the Lab[Radio City],Switch supporting Barry Dempsey[Phunk Dup] and has also been recruited state side to play some of NYC finest bars and clubs since 2001 ie Alibi,SinSin and also Leopard Lounge [NYC] which this experience broadened dave's music style plus his diversity to produce his amazing sets. He has since produced 3 tracks in RDG studios [dublin]. His success in this side of the music world has meant his tracks being played by numerous irish dj's. Dave was well known for his progressive, tech house radio show on Nova Dance 94.6fm. This earned him a lot of respect as one of Dublin’s finest DJs. And Nova Dance is where he met Paul Dolan and this is where Phuture Phunk was born ......
