Dance music & the club scenes changes with astonishing speed these days. RAFT rose up to express the present scenes with good quality music, without being thrown, though affirmative to these changes, and transcend the walls of genres without being catagorized to one in particular. RAFT..s aim is to make a space of entertainment full of emotional feelings and overflown love. Our wish is to convey the impressions music gives, and make up something that remains in the people..s heart.
Tobias Becker, born in 1978 in Duisburg/Germany, has come to Electronic Music in a more or less roundabout way. His education in classical music starts at an early age. He plays the bariton sax in a Big Band in Neuss, gets a grant from the local town council and is awarded the prize of the “Jugend musiziert” competition.
First contact with electronic music is made through the radio, later through nightclub visits and for Tobias, life without this kind of music is unthinkable now.
In winter 1998, his bariton sax is stored in the attic and he gets two Technics turntables and a mixer.
After three months, he has several gigs at the Warehouse club in Cologne. In summer 1999, he is booked for DJing at the Paradise-City club in Berlin and in winter 2000, the ARTheater club comes across his name thanks to a mix tape he sent in and he becomes resident DJ at the ARTheater, Cologne.
The parties become more and more exciting as he has now the opportunity to rock the club together with people like Ricardo Villalobos, Steve Bug, André Galluzzi, Baby Ford, Suthek, etc.
In spring 2001, Tobias Becker works as a trainee at Neuton – Germany’s biggest distribution for non-commercial Electronic Music. In April 2003, he has his first gigs at the Harpune club in Duesseldorf and later becomes one of Harpune’s official resident DJs.
Finally, at the end of 2003, Tobias Becker founds his own label: Platzhirsch Schallplatten.
Since March 2004, his records are distributed worldwide through KOMPAKT.The first Platzhirsch release immediately enters the Groove magazine’s charts at 7 and KOMPAKT’s sale charts at 1 and is licensed for a number of compilations. And the second release again enters the Groove charts and according to the DE:BUG magazine it is”…this season’s hottest Open Air rave record”.Then, after only 7 months, Platzhirsch ranks among the Top Ten in the Groove magazine’s reader’s poll “Best German Label” 2004.
More gigs follow and he now has the chance of DJing together with acts like Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier,Ricardo Villalobos, Miss Kittin, Michael Mayer, etc.
In mid 2005, Tobias Becker founds Kahlwild, a sub-label of Platzhirsch Schallplatten.
Sven Väth licenses the Kahlwild 01 release, produced by Ali Khan/Canada, for the mix CD “The sixth season”; it is also featured on André Galluzzi’s “Berghain 01” mix CD.
Born in Poland and raised in Germany, Daze Maxim started to fiddle with music programs at the tender age of 12 on a vintage Amiga; shortly after that he had acquired his first synthesizers.
This was not only the beginning of his instigated insatiable passion for producing and playing music, but also the opening of a promising career...
So the precocious brat started to DJ-ing at the age of 15, additionally immersed himself in playing various instruments (electronic guitar and piano) and thereby developed his tendency for Jazz. So he picked up the saxophone ( which he still blows today ), started playing and even dedicated himself to self-studies about composition theory and contemporary music / modern music / Music of the 20th century ( Twelve-tone / Atonality and Serialism, Minimal Music ).
Thus equipped with a rare substantiated musical background for a clubmusic producer, Daze stepped into the spotlight as a 18 year old with his first release on Oliver Bondzios ( Hardfloor/ ddpnp ) and Heinrich Tillacks ( plus 8 ) Jakpot imprint in 1995. Furthermore Daze released two more EPs which attracted broad attention. 3 years later in 1998 he climbed the next plateau by founding in collaboration with Oliver Bondzio Serial Killers Haircut (also releases by Justin Berkovi, Dave Tarrida etc.) and its sublabel Gentlemans Haircut. By then 23 aged Daze had already created numerous productions. Also he did remixes for Hardfloor, Justin Berkovi and others.
In 2000 Dazes dust-raising debut album Same Place The Bot Got Smashed got released on Harthouse. Two years later he signed to Cocoon Records. This chapter was followed by a period of reorientation and exploration.
Daze grabbed the microphone and was up for a new challenge. His splendidly thriving newborn is the Hello?Repeat label that he started with Jan Krueger in late 2005.
Current reviews specify Daze`s latest project heartz4 as sexy, truly emotional, soul-stripping and a touch of prince class. Having already been booked all-over Europe during his career, Daze is now ready to carry the Hello?Repeat banner further around the globe.
