  • Cadence is a new underground dance party, every last Friday of the month at The LightBox. 'The Lightbox' in Vauxhall is one of London's coolest new club venues. It boasts a state of the art wrap around LED system. As with the infamous Watergate In Berlin and D-Edge in Sau Paolo, The Lightbox delivers an amazing sound and light experience that's truly mesmerizing. Luke Solomon has been a fundamental part of the dance scene for over a decade now and his contribution over the years has been nothing short of phenomenal. Now in 2009, his sound is still evolving and his bizarre take on the new underground house sound is very exciting, a master of the groove and never afraid of a risk, his latest productions are arguably his finest work to date. Luke began his professional DJ career in 1990 which is where he met cohort Justin Harris. He secured a job at Freetown records, then home to Robert Owens, Felix the housecat,Jamie Principle and Masters at Work. Freetown led him to a long lasting relationships with underground hero's Rob Mello and Kenny Hawkes. Rob took Luke under his studio wing and taught him the ropes, together they went on to release for both Freetown and Prescription Underground – it was through Prescription that he got introduced to a certain Derrick L. Carter. A bond was immediately formed and through their passion for House music and crazy late nights they formed the legendary Classic Recordings. Luke also formed a recording partnership with Justin Harris and are the masterminds behind their band Freaks and their own label Music For Freaks, 3 studio albums followed. This year Luke and the band enjoyed a top ten hit with the re-release of their classic 'The Creeps' through DATA. As well as that Luke has been working on his own solo productions and has recently released singles through Crosstown Rebels, Gallery, Icon, Cajual and of course Rekids with whom he released his solo album 'The Difference Engine' Until recently he had a monthly residency at AKA called Little Creatures and still holds one at the Moxa Club in Mantova, Italy. Luke Solomon's album "The Difference Engine" is out now on Rekids Cadence Residents: The Fix (Yeah:No Recordings) The Fix and Yeah:No Recordings are an underground electronica act and label project. From their very first release 'Being Stoopid' the pair have been gaining maxium respect in the underground electronic music world. The Fix have supported the mighty Booka Shade on their London tourdate. Played critically acclaimed live and DJ sets at the infamous Fusion Festival, Watergate,The End, Klub K4, Tresor and many more... The Fix' next single "The Fire Inside" (+ Lopazz remix) will be released mid February 2009 and is already receiving great feedback! Based in London they are the creators and hosts of the worldwide phenomenon that is Kitchen Party. is a cyber world house party that takes place in, of all places, its creators' kitchen and secret garden and is a unique place on the internet to see and hear great electronic music being played by some of the world's best djs and producers. The origin of Kitchen Party's vibe is evident in a Sweet * Vicious dj set; an energetic and intimate exchange on the dancefloor, ignited through the intricate delivery of only the highest quality house and techno. Alison Marks. (Dessous) Alison Marks began DJing in the early 90's and was the first female DJ to win Muzik magazine's mix tape competition. She hosted a show on the infamous pirate radio station Frequency FM and after moving to London worked in record distribution. Slowly but surely her Dj'ing popularity gained momentum and she has regularly played at The End, Fabric, Plastic People, Robodisco, Wiggle, Secret Sundaze, The Cross and Turnmills. In 2002 she was offered the chance to host her own weekly night at Propaganda club in Moscow. She followed her heart to one of the maddest cities and best crowds in the world where every Friday she played for 8 hours. The night was meant to last a few months but ran for 2 years. No longer content with just playing other peoples records she bought an Atari and synthesizer, the catalyst to building up her own studio. A lot of manual reading later, and 'Rothschild's Violin' and 'Focomentry' were picked up by Steve Bug and released on his Dessous imprint in March 2006. A steady flow of releases has followed with her latest release 'Community Vison' on Dogmatik supported widely with plays from the likes of Jamie Jones and Clive Henry She is also involved in radio plateaux. A sonic arts internet radio or auditory lay-by for free-thinking global sonic travellers. Where listeners are invited to park up, listen, digest and Her long running love affair with all things electronic has seen her amass a vintage record collection that is often evident in her dynamic and emotive sets. With impeccable technical skills she looks to the past and future for inspiration to create a unique present.
