  • Friday 19th December (Mad Friday) The Arena proudly welcomes back Purrfect Electro! With Guests... JESSE ROSE STUPID FRESH NICK OSTERTAG(Purrfect) After a fantastic start to 2008 purrfect electro has brought some top quality dj's to Middlesbrough which include Mark Knight,D Ramirez,Chris Lake,Bart B More,Will Bailey and loads more! Aiming to end 08 on a high we have welcomed back the lads from Leeds to sign out the year in style and boy have they delivered! In the form of Jesse Rose and Stupid Fresh, 2 acts certain to keep the floor dancing till early hours of the morning! Jesse Rose Jesse Rose was raised on Motown soul, jazz and eighties funk in London, moving to Bristol to begin throwing club nights with old friend Jamie Anderson at the beginning of the nineties. In 1997 Jesse moved back to his hometown London and soon started playing regularly around the capital, honing his particular blend of Chicago house and early Detroit techno. He releasing his first mix CD ‘Tec-House Living’ on the Subversive label under his Deeper Sound Of Bristol moniker before founding Front Room Recordings with Chris Belsey in 2001. The Front Room artist roster boasts the likes of Solid Groove, Trevor Loveys, Jamie Anderson, Atlantic Fusion, Rob Mello, John Tejada, Stefan Goldmann and productions and remixes by Jesse himself. Jesse also co-owns ‘loungin’ recordings’ and his newly formed ‘Made to Play’ imprint, though lately he’s been releasing on Simple, Freerange REKIDS, Dubsided and Get Physical. As well as his own production slate, which includes the massive ‘A-sided’ on Dubsided, Jesse has remixed the likes of Riton, Radio Slave, Elite Force, Kosma & Trevor Loveys to name a few. Jesse can also be found producing alongside Dave Taylor AKA Solid Groove/Switch under the guises of Induceve on Derrick Carter’s Classic label. Induceve highlights include ‘Jazz Chops’, ‘Time To Begin’ and ‘Monolevel’ on Classic as well as the ‘Pick It Up’ EP on Dubsided. Jesse also regularly produces alongside Trevor Loveys as izit? Stupid Fresh It's your typical DJ meets DJ love story: after hooking up at a comp in Leeds in the winter of 2005 Tod Hodge and Chris Elliot combined their mutual appreciation for 'knob fiddling' and set about making music. The result? Stupid Fresh. Taking into account the fact that the majority of their material isn't even available to buy yet, the considerable success of the duo to date is quite remarkable. Having played alongside the likes of Fergie, Micky Slim, Bass Kleph, Will Bailey and Kid Kenobi, Stupid Fresh keep going from strength to strength with their latest release "Get The Fuck Up" on Vacation Records riding high in the number one spot on DJdownload.com and "Stretch the Canvas" sitting pretty at number two. So how is it that these two have managed to get the attention and props of industry heavyweights? Well it appears they owe a lot to Australia's Hook n Sling. After coming across their "Ho" track via the wonderful world of MySpace and including it on his Chew The Fat! compilation mix, Stupid Fresh have gone on to various radio appearances including a much coveted invite to play on the Loose Cannon's Kiss FM show and having their production services requested for various remixes including the Aston Shuffle's "For Everyone" and Bass Kleph's "Bump Uglies". Now signed to Micky Slim's Bomb Squad Record label and with so much love coming at the pair, it's only a matter of time before they take their unique blend of ghetto funk out of Leeds and across the globe. There's something special brewing in Yorkshire this year and Tetley tea it ain't! NICK OSTERTAG Purrfect electro's resident and rising star who has just had his first record snapped up by Destination records completes this truely awesome line up. www.myspace.com/purrfecteuge www.myspace.com/arena1664 Doors open 11pm til 6am £8 entry Pop your name on the wall for... £7 Paying guestlist + Q Jump Get in touch with Eugene for coach details from Leeds...
