Wormup New Years Special

 • SPEKTRE, consisting of producers/djs Paul Maddox and Filthy Rich, who came together through a bond of minimal techno, and a willingness to experiment unmercifully with new sounds. Unsettling any crowd that stands in their way, with their razor-sharp beats and explosive chemistry, their releases and live sets have been menacing dance floors ever since their project was born. 2008 saw Spektre’s unique sound reaching the shores of South America, Russia & Ukraine, with an album showcase performance at this summers Glade Festival. With recent releases such as “Wetwired/On a Roll” (Very Very Wrong Indeed), and the hit “Deal with it’’(Suruba), as well as the “Pacemaker EP” (Rotary Cocktail), and their remix of Two EM’s “Manjala” featuring on the “Best of 2008 – Minimal Edition”, Spektre are on a roll and ready to blast into 2009 with a killer set at wormUp New Years Eve. Born and raised in a small city close to Barcelona, JORDI MAS' interest in dance music came at a very early age. By the time he’d moved to London, he was quick to start his own night, Minim(o), at Public Life, with guests such as Giles Smith (secretsundaze), Dan Berkson & James What (Poker Flat/Dessous), and Margaret Dygas (Panorama Bar). Constant licensing battles at Public Life sadly gave an end to Minim(o) but Jordi always remained committed to London's underground scene, playing regularly at nights and venues such as Kubicle, Retox, GetOut!, D-Late, Redlight and Cafe1001. His first international bookings soon came up at Moscow's Propaganda and Arena in Berlin. Jordi began to focus on music production, working with the newly born Sounderground Records label, for which he is one of the official DJs. He is currently working on a remix of the latest Sounderground release, an EP by Mikael Stavostrand. Sounderground is steaming ahead with an array of quality forthcoming releases, featuring artists such as Langenberg (Drumpoet Community), Art Bleek (Connaisseur), Cesare vs Disorder (Resopal) and Laurine Frost (Perspectiv). These days you can find Jordi spinning regularly at his own night !KNUF @ cosmobar alongside guests like Miss Jools (Mobilee), Anthea (Phonica/Mojuba) or Jonny Rock (Freaks/Disco45). He is also a resident at Anthea?s own monthly night BALANCE @ The Burlington Club and will be playing at a string of label parties that will take place every other month next year. Other recent gigs include Kitchen Party, The Players @ AKA, Click @ Aquarium and Always Fridays @ Egg. SOHO, originally hailing from the Middle East, moved to London in the summer of 2003 to study photography and pursue his passion for electronic music... He is recognised as 1/3 of the LikeThat collective, known for their spontaneous warehouse parties around the east end of London, hosting nights with varied artists from Dandy Jack to Ryan Elliott. In 2008, he released his EP with Safari Electronique head honcho Arnaud Le Texier, 'Spirit, Mind & Sound' on Kailash records, played all over by dj's ranging from Raresh to Johnny D. Soho's eclectic dj sets are a mixture of chugging, jazzy, deep, groovy, house & techno and everything in between…Already with a release on kailash records in 2008 and an upcoming cut on MultiVitamins records with Doudou Malicious you can be sure to expect great things from this multi-talented artist as well as loads of deep tech house goodness… DAVID DELGADO has been busy in the studio following the release of the 'Roniti EP' on Chicago based label SITEHOLDER UNCUT under the collaboration name of BeLeeJean with Maik Yells. His upcoming release with Playhouse's Pete Lazonby of Sacred Cycles fame is sounding fantastic, and will be on release early next year on new label GHI. Look forward to a great mix of hard cutting tech-house with underlying grooves from our resident. Tickets available from <a href="http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=xxx&query=schedule&promoter=wormup""_blank">TicketWeb (Click Here for Event) Party at the Whipping house will continue long after WormUp finishes - all the way until the 2nd January!
