New Year's Shake Up with Hot Chip, A Skillz, Dj Khalil

  • Pulling out all the stops for New Year’s Eve with an extended licence until 5am, The Westbury has a Hot Chip DJ set where front man Alexis Taylor will be dropping tunes covering everything from disco right through to dubstep. He’ll also be joined by A Skillz and DJ Khalil. Alexis recently released his solo album ‘Rubbed Out' which showcased his song writing talent. As one half of the Hot Chip remix team, he's touched up everyone from Kraftwerk to Franz Ferdinand, injecting everything from lush techno instrumentals to body popping garage basslines into the mix. DJ wise you can expect more of the same; the oddball eccentricity that has made Hot Chip so alluring on top of a banging techno sensibility and synth driven hedonism. Be ready for the floor. hotchip.co.uk Joining Alexis on the decks is party starter extra-ordinaire - DJ A Skillz. With productions under his belt alongside Krafty Kuts and the Beatvandals (aka Utah Saints), as well as remixes of artists such as The Beatles, Queen, Kraak & Smaak and more, it’s only a matter of time before this young producer is catapulted further into the limelight. mypace.com/djaskillz DJ Khalil has been rocking many a fine party with his eclectic selection of tunes, whether spinning hip hop and funk or Bmore and electro mashups he’ll get your feet moving!
